This was not a popular band when this album released. You were already an outsider as a death metal head, but if you liked Nocturnus, or Cynic, or Confessor, or some other more advanced bands, you were an outsider even in that scene. Anything with keyboards was seen as not belonging. Even Fear Factory was hated by many due to being so futuristic and using EDM elements. There was a group who only respected Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, Slayer and the progressively more stupid gore and porn (even combined) metal that was just about shock value and being edgy. It is now very clear who stood the test of time. Push the right limits, Nocturnus forever.

Fear Factory influence.

My ex passed away last January from a fatal asthma attack. We hadn't spoken in several years, as our break-up was very messy and there had been some bad blood between us because of it. A few months before she died, I was told that she wanted to reach out and make amends, but I put it off. Then I woke up to the news one day. She was my first love, and I'll regret not talking to her for the rest of my life. Earlier this year, I went to her grave and talked to her for a few minutes. This song reminds me of the reality, the finality, of the situation.
